As the graphic designer for the Molly Rose Foundation, it was my task to design a new Christmas card for 2020.
My initial idea for this Christmas card was to keep it simplistic, to focus and use the colour purple more, which is the charities colour. I created 4 illustrations of festive trees, that I drew up in Adobe illustrator. One of my favourite medias to use is watercolour. The texture and effect it leads when dried can help a design to be more eye catching. I used purple watercolour to add an imperfect background to go with the illustrations.
Like last year, the card is left blank inside, for people to write their own personal messages. most importantly, the back of the card has information about where you can get support, which it very helpful during these now peculiar times of the pandemic.
